Planning Studio and Brides Library Grand Opening!

Kelly McWilliams of Weddings by Socialites has opened a bridal planning studio and bride's library and is having a Grand Opening Tuesday September 2, 2008 from 5-8 pm! Kelly is a destination wedding planner extraordinaire but the planning studio and bride's library is open to any local or destination brides who want to get fabulous ideas for their wedding.  Kelly does amazing wedding invitations, and in her studio you can see videos of weddings, wedding albums, details and anything wedding related.  Of course, if you are looking for someone to plan an extraordinary event for you, Kelly McWilliams is the girl to call.

La Playa wedding

Heather and Bruce -this was a beautiful wedding at La Playa resort in Naples. The guys were basketball players, all around 6'4" tall, from Vanderbilt U.  This presented a small challenge, but all in all they were a great bunch and had a great time!  This bride was so animated, smiling, really so full of joy, enjoying every moment of her wedding and it shows in the pictures....click on the title and see more pix!

What I did on my summer vacation

Last week my daughter and I went to see Linkin Park and Chris Cornell in West Palm, at the Cruzan Amplitheathre - it's an amazing place to see concerts!  We always get a seat in the theater in case of rain (it's open air) but the acoustics are amazing, and it's always like a festival.  I didn't take my camera to that concert, but here are some pics of Alterbridge  that I took earlier this year - they rock! Have you heard of Creed?  Alterbridge is Creed with a new, amazing (and totally hot) singer.  Next concert, John Mayer at the end of this month and then Coldplay in November - yay!

Why you should do an engagement shoot!

An engagement shoot is a great way for you and your photographer to get to know each other!  There are lots of good reasons to do this.  If you do it early like my bride and groom Katie and Scott, (getting married in April 09), you can use it to send out announcements, use them in your invitations, favors, and also for your guest book or signing mat.  If you are having a country club wedding and not able to go to the beach for photos, the beach is a good location for the engagement photos. For the photographer - I get to see how you photograph, if you are a blinker, or have tendencies to lift your chin or tilt your head too much.  Then during the wedding photography I can make a note to be aware of these things.
